Scary how quickly one can transform from a productive worker and responsible citizen...
...to a Slovenly, Lazy, Unemployed Grownup, aka SLUG!
Been unemployed for a while now and think you have nothing to show for it? Well, don't sell yourself short... by now you've probably perfected the bed-to-sofa shuffle, the 7 PM shower, and can serve as a wikipedia for reality t.v.! So you see, you've actually built up quite a repertoire of talents and didn't even know it. Even though t.v. has turned your brain into mush, it was also probably your saving grace - somehow your own life never seem so bad after watching the unending reality shows and media dramas unfold. And never mind the reality shows, those real life news stories are often even better... full of scandals, scams, sordid affairs, and murder-for-hire plots... and we're just talking about one politician here. Well, with such indepth reality t.v. knowledge, maybe it's your turn to become a reality show contestant! You know, some of these shows pay out big bucks! You think it's too bad you can't sing, can't dance and don't really have much talent beyond being able to say the alphabet while belching. But wait, whatever it is that you can or can't do, there's probably a show out there just right for you. Have you checked out Silent Library?... where you get paid just for staying silent while you watch your teammates do things like having to lick whipped cream off of a very hairy 300 pound man's chest? Hopefully that lucrative job will finally come along, or unemployment benefits miraculously gets extended and increased, or you finally hit the big lottery jackpot! But if none of that happens, at least we know t.v. will always be there for us (unless we can no longer afford cable or even electricity to run our t.v.). No matter what happens, we can always count on a whole slew of reality shows and celebrity sagas to be there to make our own lives seem GREAT! |
